The Her Circle Make In India Special cover 2023 is a tribute to the remarkable craftswomen of our country and their distinct crafts to weave one powerful narrative - 'Make in India'. Aringla, loin loon weaver from Manipur, Sahiba, embroidery artist from Kashmir and Garima, blue pottery artisan from Rajasthan come together on our cover to showcase their craft, innovation and the local-to-global heritage that India’s diversity stands for. For this cover, Her Circle has collaborated with Swadesh, a brand that stands for artisans, their craft, their art and their creativity.
Meet the three craftwomen:
· Sahiba from Kashmir. She’s a chain stitch embroidery artist who’s supporting her family.
· Garima from Rajasthan. She’s embracing the legacy of her father’s craft, blue pottery through modern sensibilities.
· Pamringla from Manipur. She’s a loin loom weaver who has been teaching this craft to women from her community for their empowerment.
At the core of Her Circle lies the appreciation for artisans who are carrying the legacy of traditional crafts forward to weave a sustainable future with the common threads of empowerment, and creativity. Their inspiring stories and business acumen represent the true essence of Indian CRAFTWOMANSHIP.
