Before she raced past hurdles, Jyothi Yarraji learned how to rise above them, on the track and in life. That’s her StrongHER story. The Olympian, national record holder, Asian Games medallist and Reliance Foundation athlete speaks with the kind of calm confidence that only comes from rebuilding yourself time and again. Watching her move through recovery with such patience and purpose, it’s hard to believe this is the same woman who makes breaking records look effortless.
Her journey began in Visakhapatnam, a coastal city that shaped her grit as much as it tested her limits. She was fifteen when she decided that sport would be her language of expression, even though her family wasn’t sure at first. Back then, people questioned her parents’ decision to send a young girl away to train. Today, those same people want their daughters to grow up like Jyothi.
This year brought a different kind of challenge: an ACL surgery. It was the toughest phase of her life, one that demanded patience, discipline and belief. She speaks about recovery with honesty, about the right guidance, training, nutrition, mindset and the science behind healing. Through it all, Reliance Foundation stood beside her, celebrating the highs and steadying her through the lows.
As part of The StrongHER Movement by Her Circle, Jyothi isn’t just talking about physical strength. She’s redefining what it means to feel strong in body, mind and purpose. For her, strength training isn’t about competition; it’s about clarity. It’s what keeps her balanced, focused and moving forward, even when life throws its biggest hurdles.
Because strength is about getting back up, every single time.
