Kiran Dembla is not just a mother of two, but also a celebrity fitness expert and bodybuilder. In India, bodybuilding is still largely known as a male-dominated field—but women like Dembla are making all the difference through their hard work and determination. From being a homemaker to representing India at the world championship, her story is truly inspiring for women.
Dembla’s journey began with losing 24 kilos in seven months, after which she opened her own gym. At the age of 40 years, she built six-pack abs while handling health issues. Her hard-won battles, however, weren’t just against the health issues she faced, but also the criticisms and negativity she received from people around her. In conversation with Her Circle, Dembla explains how she handled gendered comments like “you look like a man”, and continued on her journey to achieve a true sense of freedom. Watch this, and more about her life, in this video.
