Team Her Circle headed to Amazonia in BKC to try the restaurant's new monsoon menu. What we found was less a dining experience and more a full sensory escape. The moment you walk in, you forget the city’s hustle and find yourself in a forest-inspired set-up. Staff in animal-inspired masks make you feel like you have wandered into the jungle right after the first rains of the season.
The highlight of the visit and Amazonia’s Monsoon Menu is the floating dining experience. Suspended over water, surrounded by rain-soaked greenery, with mist swirling around each dish as it arrives, every course feels like a scene from something larger. The line between theatre and dining blurs in the best possible way.
On the menu, we started with the Root and Shoot Skewers which were fresh, light and exactly right for easing into the experience. The signature Monsoon Hot Plates included the Charcoal Cottage Cheese and Veggies alongside the Lemongrass Hot Pot. This was the rainy-day comfort food that the afternoon called for. The drinks paired well throughout, and the mocktail list held up equally well for those keeping it light. We ended with the Berry Parfait which is worth saving room for, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
Amazonia's monsoon menu is the rare kind of dining experience that earns the word ‘experiential’ with food that is genuinely good. The ambience is unlike anything else in Mumbai right now, and the floating table is the kind of detail that makes the whole dining experience feel worth it.
