What happens when you stop reaching for fast fashion for an entire week?
We decided to find out, with the help of The Chic Indian, a homegrown discovery marketplace for all things fashion!
This video documents our Fashion Feature Editor’s one-week fast fashion detox, where we styled everyday looks from work meetings, sourcing days, events, staying in, festive moods, and weekend brunches: all using handloom, homegrown, and consciously-made pieces instead of my usual fast fashion go-tos.
From linen trousers that surprised us with their comfort, to embroidered overlays, khadi sets that feel festive even on regular days, and organic cotton co-ords perfect for hosting friends, this challenge will make you rethink ease, comfort, and personal style.
What we loved most?
- How versatile slow fashion can actually be
- How easy these outfits were to put together
- How much more me my wardrobe felt by the end of the week
If you’ve ever wondered whether sustainable fashion can keep up with real life (and real schedules), this one’s for you.
Watch till the end to see a fun weekend brunch look and why this detox might not just be a one-week thing.
Let me know: could you try a fast fashion detox?
