In this conversation with Mallika, the founder of Terrapy, she opens up about the deeply personal experience that led her to build one of India’s most thoughtful women-first wellness platforms. What began as an isolating encounter with perimenopause at just 36 became the catalyst for a larger mission that challenges how women’s health is understood, addressed, and often overlooked.
Mallika reflects on the lack of accessible information, research, and support systems available to women navigating hormonal changes, especially when they fall outside conventional timelines. Her story is one many women will recognise: symptoms dismissed, concerns minimised, and a lingering sense of having to 'just deal with it.' Instead of accepting that narrative, she chose to question it.
What emerged from that questioning is Terrapy, which she describes as an ecosystem. At its core, it is a simple yet often ignored idea: women’s wellness cannot be treated as fragmented symptoms. It needs to be holistic, sustainable, and designed to fit into real, everyday lives. Rather than prescribing rigid routines or ideal lifestyles, Terrapy aims to meet women where they are by offering tools that enable more intentional, informed choices.
A key part of this journey, as Mallika shares, was community. Before any product was developed, there was listening. Conversations with women about their bodies, patterns, discomforts, and confusions have together shaped the foundation of Terrapy. The brand’s approach stands apart in its refusal to isolate women by age or condition, instead addressing hormonal wellbeing as a lifelong, evolving experience. Through Terrapy, Mallika is not just building products but also fostering a space where women can feel seen, supported, and better equipped to navigate their health on their own terms.
