As India’s elderly population grows, one aspect of healthcare often remains overlooked: oral health. For many senior citizens, something as simple as a dental check-up can be difficult because of limited mobility, chronic health conditions, dependence on caregivers, or the sheer challenge of travelling to a clinic. Dr Prachi Deval saw this gap firsthand and knew there had to be a better way.
That idea led to Dent At Home, a venture dedicated to making dental care more accessible, particularly for elderly and geriatric patients. Dr Deval understood that dental care for older adults could not follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Age-related conditions, existing medical issues, medication use, and mobility limitations all required a more personalised and compassionate approach to treatment. By delivering care in familiar surroundings, Dr Deval aimed to reduce stress and create a more comfortable experience for patients and their families.
Dent At Home offers services such as routine dental check-ups, oral health assessments, teeth cleaning, denture-related care, preventive consultations, and personalised treatment plans tailored to the needs of elderly patients. In this conversation for Her Circle Bizruptors, Dr Deval explains why she chose to focus on a segment that often remains underserved despite its growing needs.
