Founded by Alpana Parida, Tvarra was born out of a simple yet powerful belief: women deserve helmets they want to wear, not just have to wear. For years, the helmet industry had remained stagnant- plain, black, and uninspired, often created from men’s molds and painted pink or yellow to pass as “women’s helmets.” Tvarra set out to change that, aiming to redefine safety through design, comfort, and empowerment.
Rethinking Safety with Purpose
Unlike most brands that simply meet basic ISI standards, Tvarra helmets exceed ISO standards by 50%. The mission was never about making cheaper products, but about making better ones with helmets designed to protect while celebrating individuality. Each Tvarra helmet is more than equipment; it’s a feeling, a promise of safety, and a statement of strength.
A Ride Towards Independence
For many women in India, the first time they ride a scooter marks the beginning of true independence. Until then, they may have relied on public transport or family support to move through life. That first ride is a powerful step towards self-reliance and freedom. Tvarra sees itself as a catalyst in that journey, a symbol of women rising above obstacles and moving closer to their dreams.
More Than Just Protection
Every Tvarra helmet is crafted with detail and intention. A unique pocket inside each helmet carries an “intention card,” encouraging women to write down their dreams and carry them wherever they ride. It’s a constant reminder that they are not just moving physically but also moving towards their goals.
Empowering Women, One Ride at a Time
For Alpana, Tvarra is not just about helmets, it’s about sparking transformation. At a stage in life when many of her peers were winding down, she chose to build something that inspires women to rise above limitations. In the future, Tvarra hopes to extend its impact through scholarships and fellowships that empower women beyond the road.
Tvarra helmets are more than safety gear, they are symbols of courage, freedom, and transformation. They remind women that with every ride, they are stepping into their own story: bold, fearless, and free. Sometimes, all it takes is a little magic to fly.
