Bringing Authenticity With Every Dish - Chef Seefah Ketchaiyo

My love for Asian flavours runs deep, and if you ask me for a recommendation on which Asian restaurant to hit up while in Mumbai, I would say Seefah. With a distinctly ‘your friendly neighbourhood’ tone running through the restaurants space, the cozy table seating is quick to fill up on a weeknight as well as on weekends.

Donburi and ramen bowls, agedashi tofu, prawn cakes, crispy chicken and katsu burgers - Chef Seefah Ketchaiyo brings home-style comfort to your plate. Ketchaiyo is possibly Mumbai’s and my very favourite Asian food maestro.

As she welcomed us into her kitchen, watching her skills left us in awe. “I wanted to bring authentic home-style Thai food and Asian street food to Mumbai. And create something that’s accessible to all,” she said.

Originally from Bangkok, she has worked at the Four Seasons in Mumbai where she met her husband - Chef Karan Bane. After opening a small 16-seater Asian diner in 2016, the two moved their much-loved restaurant, Seefah to a bigger space on Hill Road.
