5 Quirky Décor You Can Add To Your Desk

If you are someone who tends to spend a great deal of time sitting at your desk working, it’s a good idea to cut the monotony by taking that well deserved break. And what better than some eclectic pieces to liven up your workspace, and add a little bit of character to it? Besides, a little quirk never hurt anybody. Whether it is a small figurine, a miniature pool table, or a Magic 8-Ball, or pictures and coffee mugs, office or desk décor is always the perfect conversation starter. When you spend a major chunk of the day at your workspace, it only makes sense to spruce it up and make it your own. Here are five quirky décor ideas to help you add character to your desk:

1. Bobble Heads

Whether it is your favourite character from a comic book or TV show, you can flaunt your love for them with bobble head figurines. Their tiny bodies and enlarged bobbing heads serve as a quirky addition to your desk setup.

2. Book Holders

Quirky book holders have flooded the market, so it can be tough taking your pick. Not only do these book holders do their job of keeping your favourite reads together, they definitely add character to your overall space. Then again, these work better if you have your own office, and bookshelves.

3. Laptop Mats

If you use your laptop over a long period of time for work, placing it directly on the hard surface of your desk may do more harm than good, as the heat that is generated from the laptop can get trapped between the surfaces and may damage the battery life of the laptop, and in some cases, even fuse the circuit. Laptop mats are a great investment to prolong the battery life of your laptop, as they provide a layer between the surfaces, and in some cases, even cool the heated device. The bright hues and quirky designs are just the right pop of colour you need.

4. Post-Its

Noting down important information about work, whether it is meetings or deadlines, and putting it where you can see it is always a good idea. But, noting them down on funky and colourful post-it notes not only grabs attention, but helps you remember the details. Additionally, you could also jot down your favourite quotes to keep your spirits up through the day.

5. Stylish Storage

Let’s admit it, no matter how much we arrange our documents in files, those tiny bills and slips somehow always find space in a corner and stay there till they are blown away into oblivion. This only adds to the clutter. How about investing in quirky tin storage boxes, perhaps one that resembles a popular tourist attraction from your travels, or just a spare box that you may want to recycle for this very purpose? It will not only add to the quirk factor on your desk, but will also remind you where you’ve kept all those bills.
