Women Who Owned 2021

“Here’s to Her Circle”

An extraordinary year deserves a befitting end. 2021 started on a positive note, taking a sudden downturn with the second wave of COVID-19 which delivered a body blow to our health, life and the economy. In such trying times emerged women who achieved milestones undeterred by their circumstances.

We draw 2021 to a close by giving these Her Circle Heroes an applause.

You will meet an amazing league of women who walked barefoot to collect one of India’s highest honours, to those who jumped boundaries in what would be the most gravity-defying Cricket catch, to those who went beyond the stars. Here is the rollcall of women who owned 2021 in no particular order:

Sirisha Bandla

Tulsi Gowda

Avani Lekhara

Shobha Bhutada Purushottam

Arundhati Bhattacharya

Sneha Dubey

This is not to say the countless multitudes like you and I—who are straddling work, home, circumstances that life throws at us—are not unstoppable. We are, but we could all do with role models and that’s where Her Circle Heroes step in.

Here’s to them and you. Here’s to us. Here’s to Her Circle!
