Pre-Wedding Shoots Can Be Harmful For Women: Chattisgarh Women’s Commission

The Chattisgarh Women’s Commission courted controversy saying that parents should avoid pre-wedding shoots for the sake of their children’s future, as it may be especially harmful for their daughters, in the event that the marriage does not work out. 25 cases related to couple disputes post marriage have been scheduled for public hearing. In one such case, it was revealed that a wedding could not take place and the applicant had filed a complaint. The complaint was later withdrawn as both the parties had reached an agreement and the other party returned the money spent on preparations for the wedding. All the photos and videos from the pre-wedding shoot were deleted as well.

The opposing party was made to understand by the applicant that if any of the photos or videos were used/circulated without the consent of the concerned party, then a report would be filed by them for cybercrime.

The chairperson of the Chattisgarh Women’s Commission claims that people in recent times have been influenced by western trends and culture, which is creating negative repercussions on Indian culture and traditions.
