Cannes Lions 2021: Over 50% Women Jurors

Cannes Lions is all set to premiere on June 21, 2021(it will be a complete digital experience), and it recently announced its jury line-up of global experts who will be awarding the best in creative communications, advertising, and related fields.

As opposed to 48 per cent in 2019, this year juries consist of 51 per cent of female jurors. This year has seen a huge representation by top global brands and various platforms and entertainment companies.

Lions juries will participate in remote judging from their homes. Speaking about the process, Susie Walker, Head of Awards, LIONS, told a portal: “Judging is a very human experience. It must also be a rigorous and robust process. Our unique judging platform, successfully trialed at other Lions awards this year, has been built to ensure the value and integrity of the Lion is upheld. We’re committed to delivering a judging experience that allows jurors to do their job without hindrance, and crucially, we want every piece of creative work to be given the time and discussion it deserves.”

Philip Thomas, Chairman, LIONS, told the portal: “After pausing the awards last year, our juries will be awarding Lions across two years’ worth of work, which is an unprecedented opportunity to set the global creative benchmark for two years of outstanding creativity.”
