Belgian Designer’s Bridal Wear Campaign Sets New Standards For Gender Neutral Clothing

Belgium-based designer Eva Janssens has launched a new campaign for her line of gender-neutral bridal wear in collaboration with content creator, Gerrit Elen. The campaign featured the uniquely styled influencer in layered ensembles that included tulle details, overlays, tailored garments as well as a tulle gown.

While the pieces in the collection are celebratory and wedding-worthy, packed with impeccable embroidered details, what makes the collection unique is that the silhouettes are gender fluid. The garments feature exemplary cuts and are versatile enough to suit everyone, regardless of gender. All pieces featured in the campaign are made-to-measure and the perfect balance of feminine and masculine.

In a post featuring pictures of the campaign, Elen stated 'I’ve enjoyed this thought process about gender in fashion a lot and I hope it inspired you as well. More than anything, I believe in individual style and doing anything that feels right for yourself. Whether a piece of clothing comes from the women’s or the men’s department is not relevant at all.' Sharing his school of thought on gender fluidity, Janssens said in a statement, 'For me it doesn't matter who enters my store. As long as there is interest in celebrating love, there is an opportunity to put a wardrobe together.'

While the concept of gender-neutral clothing has been increasingly adopted by fashion creators, the Belgian bridal designer’s campaign was one of the first that has blurred the lines between masculine and feminine in the space of bridal fashion.
