For about 75 years, the Cannes Film Festival has given film, fashion and beauty lovers all over the world a variety of inspiration with its movies and red carpet moments. Usually, a large number of looks aren’t very wearable, but this year, we were in for a treat. From Indian fashion blogger, Masoom Minawala Mehta, to supermodel Bella Hadid, almost every attendee at the festival gave their make-up and hair a unique touch. Updo’s are in…

From the front, supermodel Bella Hadid’s hair was sleek and pulled back but the real drama was in her carefully braided updo that was piled high on her head. Try recreating this look on second-day hair since your mane has enough natural oils and grit to keep flyaways at bay. If you have frizzy hair, just take a toothbrush and spritz some hair spray on it. Comb back any flyaways and you’re set! For the braid part, you can just throw your tresses in a plait and loosen it. Coil it high on your head and secure it with pins.

As are middle parts…

Earlier this year, Gen Z declared side parts are out, and we don’t know if what we saw on the red carpet was the effect of that, but we aren’t complaining at all! All the looks we saw–from Indian fashion blogger Masoom Minawala Mehta to actors like Elisa Sednaoui and Candice Swanepoel–were dreamy and very easy to recreate. While the latter went for a clean centre part, Mehta opted for a chic low ponytail. To copy the look, curl your hair using 2-inch curling iron and secure it a few inches above your nape. Take a few strands of your hair and wrap them around the hair tie. Voila! You’re done.

Actor Kat Graham made a strong case for smoky, emerald green eyeshadow, and paired it with the perfect nude lipstick and a bronzed base. Recreate the look by focusing the colour on the middle and outer edge of your eyes. Remember to line your undereye with the same eyeshadow to complete the look!
