You’re all dressed up and almost out the door to finally catch up with your friends in person, now that restaurants are slowly opening their doors. We get it—you are done with those Zoom meets or FaceTime calls. Besides, you finally get to dress up and look like your normal self, not that couch potato you’ve been these past few months.
As you grab your keys, and reach into your bag to check your wallet, you’ve realised that you’ve smudged your otherwise perfect, almost salon-like finish nail paint. We feel your pain. But what if we told you that you didn’t need to worry about wet nail paint even if you have to step out in the next 10 minutes?
Here are five beauty hacks to quickly dry your nail polish:
Use your dryer: As odd as this might sound, a quick blow out is a handy trick to use. Avoid the hot air as it’ll prevent the paint from firming in place. Instead, use the cold air for a full minute.
Ice, ice baby: You’ve probably heard about this trick before, but dipping your hails in ice cold water for a full minute is a sure shot way to firm the fresh coat of polish in place. Go ahead, try it.
Try some oil: Applying a drop of baby oil, or cooking oil onto your nails is a great way of thinning out the polish, allowing it to dry and firm up faster. Rinse your hands with cold water when you’re done.
Essential oils work too: No matter what your favourite essential oil may be, simply fill a small bowl with the oil, and dip your nails for a minute to help speed up the drying process.
Try some hairspray: Like it keeps your hair in place, it can work for that nail polish too. Just remember to spritz on your nails from a distance of 30 centimetres, and watch the magic unfold.
